When I was 14 I lost my #1 fan. My dad died from suicide. Having suffered the biggest loss of my life, I was encouraged to remain in sports, and I was blessed to have mentors guide me and keep my own mental health in check.  Sports allowed me to persevere on and off the field. It kept me motivated. The benefits of team sports on not only physical, but on mental, emotional, and social health are extensive:

Through Hands of 10ve I hope to encourage kids to participate in sports; bring awareness to mental health and suicide issues; and to continue my dad's work in uniting law enforcement with the community.  I dedicate Hands of 10ve to my father who was the biggest advocate for raising up kids in need, building community, and brightening lives.  While I don't have a clear answer for "why" my dad went as he did, I hope to continue to be an advocate for positive change in the world, as he did every day.
